Dr raphael mechoulam has been one of the greatest cannabis scientists in the world and is known for his amazing discovery of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in 1964. He is also known for his work on the endocannabinoid systems and is considered the "Godfather" of Cannabis science.

Mechoulam was a Bulgarian native and immigrated to Israel with his family back in 1949. He studied biology and chemical at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Later, he earned his PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Rehovot.

He started researching hashish. This is a common plant, but it's not well understood. It's used medicinally and for recreational purposes. Mechoulam was fascinated by both the biology of plants and their chemistry.

In order to learn more about cannabis he asked the director of the Weizmann Institute if he could have some hashish for research. He agreed to do so, and he became hooked on the amazing plant.

He made several discoveries while doing his research that contributed to a better understanding of the effects cannabis has on the body. These discoveries included the first isolation of tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis and is responsible for its strong effects on the brain. Endogenous cannabinoids, which naturally occur in the body, were also discovered by him.

These compounds are essential in helping the body heal itself and protecting it against disease. They lower inflammation, reduce pain, and stimulate muscle contractions.

Mechoulam has been studying these chemicals for 30 years. He is always on the lookout to find new compounds that could improve our health and well being. He discovered an endogenous compound called oleoyl-glycine that can prevent osteoporosis bone loss. He also discovered H2671 (a stable version) which reversed the effects of Prader-Willi Syndrome in mice.

He is a great inspiration to the world of research and his work is not only groundbreaking, but has also contributed to the medical field. Mechoulam is a pioneer in science and technology, having been instrumental in the jumpstarting the medical revolution surrounding the cannabis plant.

Professor Mechoulam has been a significant figure in cannabis research over the years and has received many honors. He has been named a member of the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities in 1994, an Honorary Doctorate from Complutense University (2006) and a Israel Prize in Exact Science - Chemistry (2000).

FAQ

Which states are the biggest consumers of CBD?

California, Colorado and Oregon are three of the most popular states. These states have large populations and high incomes with low unemployment. These states also have higher amounts of hemp farms than other States.

California is the leader because its economy is heavily dependent on agriculture. It produces most of the nation's vegetables and fruits. This makes sense because cannabis is extracted from the same plants as hemp.

Oregon and Colorado are close behind, as they both grow marijuana for medical purposes. California does not allow for recreational use.

Other states that rank high include Washington, New York. Florida, Illinois. Pennsylvania. Mississippi.

What conditions can be treated with CBD?

To have any treatment work, it must first affect the person's overall health. If you are using cannabis oil as a medicine, then it must be prescribed by a doctor. It is also illegal for someone to prescribe cannabis oil without a doctor's consent.

You don't need a prescription if you use cannabis oil to support a healthy lifestyle. You should talk to your doctor to confirm that cannabis oil is safe to be taken.

You can make cannabis oils from whole plant extracts, or isolated compounds called Cannabinoids (THC or CBN). They can contain many cannabinoids such as cannabidiol, tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabinol.

These components interact and create effects that include pain relief, stress relief, and antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Is CBD a good idea to invest in?

As more people are aware of the many benefits of hemp-based products and their market, it continues to grow. By 2022, the market for hemp-based products will reach $1 billion.

Market growth is expected to continue at a rate of more than 20% annually until 2020 when it will reach $2.5 billion.

Hemp oil is already used to make many beauty and healthcare products, such as lotions.

A number of companies produce CBD-infused beverages, pet foods, dog treats, snacks, and other food items.

CBD is currently legal in all 50 US states. This may change quickly. More research into CBD's potential uses will be done, which will make it easier for businesses and law enforcement to do business legally.

These are all factors that make CBD investments a viable venture.

Where can I find CBD products?

CBD can be bought online or at your local retailer. Online retailers offer better deals. Many websites sell CBD products containing industrial hemp.

Look for local businesses that sell CBD products.

A lot of states have passed laws that allow consumers to purchase CBD products without the need for a prescription. CBD products can be purchased at your local pharmacy in some states if you are one of them.

CBD products could even be delivered to your home.

Can I use CBD during pregnancy?

The research on CBD use in pregnancy is still lacking.

Based on the limited information, however, it seems unlikely that CBD would cause harm for the baby.

It is important to remember that CBD should not only be used by women who are pregnant, but also by those who have been recommended by their doctor.

A recent warning was issued by the Food and Drug Administration about possible risks from CBD consumption during pregnancy.

According to the FDA, "there is some evidence that cannabis use during pregnancy may increase the risk of miscarriage."

The agency said that more research is needed to reach a firm conclusion.

How To

How to sell CBD Products within the United States

CBD (cannabidiol), is one of the 100+ cannabinoids naturally found in cannabis plants. It's non-psychoactive and doesn't cause "high" like THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). Hemp oil is made from CBD oil, and it does not contain any THC. This is a big difference to marijuana, where the THC levels can vary greatly.

Research shows that cannabidiol helps to treat anxiety and depression. CBD is legal across the country in most states. However there are restrictions. Find out if your state qualifies for CBD.

The first step in selling CBD products, is choosing the type of product you will offer. Starting with tinctures is a good option. Then you could move to topicals and oils. Or, you could make your own personal care products like lotions or lip balms. No matter what your choice, CBD products are in high demand, especially when they're made with whole-plant extracts. So if you're ready to get started, keep reading!

  • Select your Product Type

There are many types of CBD products on the market today. Each type works differently depending on how it was extracted, processed, and manufactured. Some of the most popular choices are:

  1. Topical – This involves the application of CBD directly onto the skin. Topical CBD has a faster rate of absorption than CBD oral. However, topical takes longer to absorb into the bloodstream. To treat inflammation and pain, topically applied topical products are better suited for general wellness than for general treatment.
  2. Sublingual CBD - This is where a small amount of liquid CBD is placed under one's tongue for 60 second before swallowing. Sublingual is often cited as the fastest route to absorb CBD, but it does have its drawbacks. First, because the dose is absorbed by oral mucosa (rather than the digestive track), it doesn't travel quickly enough to relieve acute symptoms. It has been proven that only 10% of the dose actually reaches the bloodstream. It can be difficult to measure the exact dosage using this method.
  3. Oral Spray/Gum uses drops of CBD dispersed in a carrier oil, such as sublingual. However, CBD is sprayed under the tongue or chewed as gum. These methods are good for temporary relief, but not recommended for long-term use because of their slow delivery rate.
  4. Vaporizer Pens: These devices heat CBD isolate and wax to produce vaporized CBD. They are generally more effective than either smoking CBD flowers or taking CBD capsules.
  • Assess the potential legal implications for your business

If you plan on operating an eCommerce platform, you will need to consider whether your business will operate legally throughout the United States. The federal government regulates CBD products through the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), which classifies them as Schedule I substances. CBD products can't be sold without a prescription.

Each state has its own CBD laws. New York, California. Massachusetts. Michigan. Rhode Island. and Wisconsin have all legalized medical marijuana. Others like Oklahoma, Florida and Tennessee have passed legislation that allows CBD oil derived form hemp to be sold over the Counter. You may not need to worry about legal issues if you sell CBD products in these states. You should still consult an attorney specializing on cannabis law if you live or work in another state that has cannabis legalization.

  • Make a Marketing Plan

Once you've decided on the product that you want to sell you must decide how to get it promoted. There are many options for how to do this. It could be:

Start an eCommerce Platform. You might already have experience selling online. If not, there are many platforms available that make it easy to set up shop. Shopify is a popular platform. Shopify allows users to create and market an online shop and promote it via email marketing and social media.

Hire an expert online marketer. Hiring someone to manage your eCommerce website can save you time and money if you have no previous experience. Look for a company that offers SEO (search engine optimization) and PPC (pay-per-click) services.

  • Choose a payment option

If you are looking for a payment processing company, make sure it offers all the security features required. Some payment processors require customers, for example to verify their identities, before they will process payments. This protects against fraud. Other options include Square, Stripe and Dwolla.

  • Order Shipping Options

You can expect shipping costs to quickly rise if you own an eCommerce business. For orders above $100, it is a good idea to find a company that offers free shipping. Many companies offer flat shipping rates, depending on the order size.

  • Decide whether to sell products directly from Amazon

Amazon is a reputable online marketplace that sells hundreds of thousands of items. It does not allow sellers, however, to ship directly to customers. Instead, they must use third-party service providers. Amazon sellers are responsible for managing customers' orders. Amazon charges fees for fulfillment and storage as well as delivery.

  • Track sales and customer feedback with a tracking system

It is important to give feedback to clients in order ensure your success. Google Analytics is an excellent way to get started. Google Analytics allows you to track your traffic and sales. It will also show you where your visitors came from and which keywords they used when searching for your website.

  • Think about selling your own brand CBD Oil

The best way to start making money off of CBD products is to create your own brand. You can personalize your CBD products to meet your individual needs by creating your very own line. You can even charge more than other retailers because you won't have to share profits with anyone else.

  • Get Discounts and Specials

People love to save money, particularly when it comes down to health care. Promos and discounts are great ways of increasing sales. They encourage people buy your products.

  • Make use of social media to market your business

Social media is a powerful tool that can help you promote your business. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest are just a few of the many websites that have potential customers who might be interested in your products. You need to make sure your posts are relevant, interesting,, and engaging.

  • Offer Free Samples

People love trying new things. As long as you don't overdo it, giving away samples or coupons can increase sales. Make sure you clearly describe the cost of each sample.

  • Mobile-Friendly Websites

Mobile devices are becoming more popular for accessing the internet. Your website should be compatible with smartphones or tablets. People who can't view your site on their mobile devices or tablets will leave the site and go somewhere else.
